Machines: saddles and thrusters
There are two kinds. Saddle machines like the Sybian and Motorbunny are ridden: you sit astride, an attachment does the work, and your partner holds the controller. Thrusting sex machines stand or lie beside you and move an attachment in and out at a speed and depth you set. Handing the controller to your partner is one of the most intense experiences a couple can share, and power exchange without a single rope. We own and use both of the leading saddles. Here is how they differ.

Using a saddle machine safely
- Agree a stop word and a hand signal; the rider can always dismount
- Start on the lowest setting with plenty of water-based lubricant
- Use a towel or cover, and clean attachments with toy cleaner after each use
- Check the attachment material and lubricant are compatible
Making it a scene
The controller is the point. One partner rides, the other decides: speed, rotation, when to stop and when not to. Negotiate it like any power exchange, with limits and a safeword, and plan aftercare. Full guide coming soon.
Thrusting sex machines
A thrusting machine gives steady, tireless rhythm that hands and hips can't match, and a remote that is perfect for power exchange. Look for adjustable stroke length and depth, a stable base or mount, quiet motors, standard attachment fittings and an easy-to-reach stop button. Motorbunny's Buck combines a saddle with thrusting; dedicated machines come in tabletop, floor and handheld styles.
Safety with any machine
- Set the shortest stroke and lowest speed first, then build up
- The person on the receiving end can always reach the stop
- Secure the machine so it can't shift or tip mid-session
- Never leave anyone restrained with a machine running
- For anal use, attachments must have a flared base
